Statesville Man Arrested After Call Of Shots Fired This Morning

Cesar David Rendon , age 41 of Oak Grove DR., Statesville was arrested by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office early Friday morning. He is charged with

Cruelty to animals (3 counts)
Child Abuse (3 counts)
Assault on a government official
Resisting arrest

According to arrest documents, Iredell County Deputies responded after reports of shots being fired. The suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at a dog. Three juveniles were present at the time of the incident. An Iredell County Deputy suffered a cut to a wrist as result of the suspect resisting being placed in handcuffs.

Records show that it has yet to be determined if the suspect is a legal U.S. Citizen.

Rendon is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center
