The owner of a Statesville paint store was arrested Monday for pointing a gun at two people. Statesville Police arrested Statesville Paints owner Vernon Brown, age 55. Officers responded to the store on East Front Street around 1 p.m. after getting a report that a man was carrying a gun.
Reports indicate the two men had gone to the location in a effort to be paid by Brown for some work they had done for him. Brown is alleged to have pointed a handgun at both people and demand they leave the business. Brown was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of assault by pointing a gun.
