Taylorsville: At the Alexander County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, July 11th, Vice Chairman Rob Arguelles noted that positive news was heard from a recent meeting with State Senator Eddie Settle.
The school system will receive $100,000 to use for facilities updates. Settle also noted that, pending legislature approval, $2.5 million will be distributed to Alexander County Schools to bring Glenn Wilson Field at Cougar Stadium into ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliance.
The aging facility at Alexander Central High School dates back to opening of the campus in 1970. It hosted it’s first Cougar Football Game in 1971.
