A shooting incident is under investigation by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
Shots were fired earlier this morning at a location on Never Mtn Road in the Ellendale Community.
Gunfire was exchanged between at least two people.
One person has been airlifted from the scene. One other person also suffered a gunshot wound.
