The Long View Police Department responded to a “shots fired” call Wednesday evening (June 26) near the Food Lion store on 2nd Avenue N.W. The call came in at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
Officers arrived and found that the suspect or suspects and the victims had left the scene. Witnesses told Police that the shooting occurred in the roadway at the intersection of 27th Street N.W. and 3rd Avenue N.W.
Investigators recovered evidence at the scene and learned that one of the victims drove a vehicle that was involved in the incident to a residence in Hickory. Hickory Police responded to the residence until Long View Police arrived. Long View Investigators then determined that the victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire several times.
Investigators obtained security camera footage that captured images of the suspect vehicle. That vehicle is described as a dark blue or black 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on 27th Street N.W.The occupants of the vehicle are juveniles according to Police.
