Second Suspect Mentioned In Catawba County Murder

There is a second suspect in the shooting death of a Conover man.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect has not been charged and might not be , before the next meeting of the Grand Jury in November.

28-year old Samuel Antonio Hernandez Loza was found shot to death at a residence in Conover on October 19th. 54-year-old Tony Marshall Shook of Claremont has been charged with the murder. At the time of the shooting, investigators said there was a female involved in the incident as well.

Shook is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 10th.
