The Alexander County Board of Commissioners has set Saturday, October 27, 2018 as “Clean Alexander Day.” Alexander County citizens will be allowed to dispose of their trash at convenience sites and the landfill with no charge. Operating hours for the convenience centers and the landfill will be extended 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 only. The convenience centers will only accept bagged household trash. The landfill nor convenience sites will accept any liquid, hazardous, or asbestos containing material. All citizens are urged to take part in the county-wide clean-up day.
