1946: ENIAC, the first electronic general-purpose computer, is formally dedicated at the University of Pennsylvania
1956: The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Kansas City A’s cancel an exhibition game in Birmingham, Alabama because of a local ordinance barring black players from playing against white players
1965: Canada adopts their Maple Leaf Flag replacing the old Canadian Red Ensign
1972: Sound recordings are granted Federal copyright protection for the first time
