This morning, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer at Third Creek Middle School was made aware of a possible weapon on campus.
School Officials and the School Resource Officers went to a location, and located the suspect a 13 year old male. A search of the suspect’s book bag located a black metal pistol. Upon closer inspection it was verified to be an Air Soft gun.
The juvenile will be charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The school suspended the student for a minimum of 10 days.
The suspect was released to a parent.
