Taylorsville – On Friday, March 28, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Alexander County on NC 16 at Millersville Road. A 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling south on NC 16 attempted to turn left onto Millersville Road and turned in front of a northbound 2007 Audi A4.
The driver of the Harley Davidson, Samuel Jarrett Killian, 35, of Taylorsville, was thrown from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A passenger was also thrown from the motorcycle and transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Audi, Lane Neal Tevepaugh, 18, of Taylorsville, was not injured.
The initial investigation does not indicate impairment or speed as contributing factors. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.
No charges will be filed in this case.
