ʜɪᴄᴋᴏʀʏ, ɴᴄ — Early Saturday morning, 01/17/2026, deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious persons call in the Mountain View area. During their response, deputies encountered two suspects who were subsequently taken into custody.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to assist with the investigation and learned of multiple vehicle and building break-ins that occurred in the surrounding area.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been arrested:
Brenton Kyle Frasure, 18, of Newton, has been charged with:
• Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle
• Attempt to Break or Enter Motor Vehicle
• Break and/or Entering Building
• Injury to Personal Property
• Resisting a Public Officer
Cameron Hoover, 18, of Newton, has been charged with:
• Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle
• Attempt to Break or Enter Motor Vehicle
• Break and/or Entering Building
• Injury to Personal Property
Both suspects have a District Court appearance scheduled for January 20, 2026.
