Newton Man Busted By Alexander County Deputies

On Tuesday, February 10, Alexander County 911 received a report of a possible breaking and entering in progress. Deputies responded to the scene and encountered Michael Meng Vue, age 34, of Newton.

Vue attempted to flee on foot when deputies arrived. During the pursuit, he discarded methamphetamine. Deputies were able to apprehend him following the chase.
He has been charged with the following offenses:

● Possession of Methamphetamine
● Carrying a Concealed Weapon
● Damage to Personal Property
● Resisting Arrest
● Littering Hazardous Waste

Vue is currently being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for February 16, 2026.
