HICKORY – The N.C. Department of Transportation invites the public to learn more about a project in development to improve traffic flow on N.C. 127 between Huffman Farm Road and Zion Church Road in Catawba County.
The project team has been developing preliminary designs to reduce congestion along 3.1 miles of the corridor, including widening the road from two to four lanes with a center median, and providing bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
A public, drop-in style meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. March 21 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church, 6156 Mountain Grove Road in Hickory. People may attend the meeting at any time to discuss the project with NCDOT staff.
People who cannot attend the meeting may submit comments in writing, by email and by phone through April 19. All comments received will be reviewed and considered as the development process continues.
More information and project maps are available on the NCDOT Public Input website.
