Morganton Stabbing Lands Man In Jail

48-year-old David Earl Jones Jr. of the Wake County Town of Wendell was arrested by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

On Saturday, March 30th, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to an address on Park Street after report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, units located three individuals who were suffering from lacerations as a result of a disturbance with a knife.

All three were transported to a local medical facility for evaluation. The Morganton Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Following the investigation, a Warrant for Arrest was issued for David Earl Jones, Jr.

Jones was served with the warrant after his release from a local healthcare facility. He was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today.
