Morganton Man Found Dead In Creek

A man reported missing has been found deceased. The man, who was found Wednesday, January 31st was identified as Marco Aurelio Solis-Lopez of Morganton.

Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m., the Morganton Department of Public Safety received a call of a deceased man in a creek near 2nd Street. Officers responded and found a man submerged in water a short distance from the road. Burke County EMS and the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene.

Mr. Solis-Lopez was reported missing on January 28 by family members. He had not been seen by family members since the early morning hours January 26. At this point in the investigation there is no foul play suspected and the case remains open pending autopsy results.
