A Morganton man has been charged following a break-in at Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville.
Sunday, around 7pm, two subjects were clearly shown on video inside the school. Taylorsville Police Chief Douglas Bowman say the pair were able to get away with some cash from teacher’s desks and some other items.
Police released photos of the pair on Tuesday and later in the day, 20 year old Jesse Lee Powell of Morganton surrendered to authorities. He’s charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was released under a $20,000 secured bond. Powell has a court date set for Monday, December 19th in Alexander County District Court.The other suspect is a minor and is expected to be charged today according to Chief Bowman.
