A man was shot Wednesday morning in Wilkes County.
Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to Samuel Circle in Moravian Falls and found 21-year old Mathew Monroe Williams of Boomer with a gunshot wound to a thigh. He was airlifted to the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. As of Thursday he was listed in stable condition.
No arrest has been reported but a spokesperson for the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office says the investigation has led to a pair of suspects described only as white males. A report indicates that methamphetamine was found at the scene of the shooting.
