On Saturday, December 11th at approximately 8:55pm the Statesville Police Department received a call regarding a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of Clay Street.
Patrol Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, 32-year old William Gregory Samuels of Statesville. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh. Officers rendered emergency aid until the victim could be transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
