The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man involved in Monday’s deputy-involved shooting in Harmony.
Daniel Glenn Brown, age 33 of Harmony, was shot by a Deputy after Brown approached the Family Dollar store armed with an “edged weapon,” according to a press release. Brown was ordered to drop the weapon multiple times. He refused, was tased but kept advancing toward the Deputy when he was shot.
Brown was transported to a regional medical facility and at last report was listed as stable.
The Sheriff’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant charging Brown with felony assault with a deadly weapon on a government official. The warrant will be served on Brown when he is discharged from treatment.
The Deputy, whose name has not been released, was placed on paid leave pending an administrative review of the shooting.
The NC State Bureau of Investigation is also investigating.
