Man Killed In Catawba County Road Rage Shooting Is Identified

The man who was shot and killed as the result of a road rage incident in Catawba County has been identified.

Jeffery Michael Guida, 40, of Sherrills Ford, was shot and killed at the intersection of Island Point Road and North View Harbour Drive on Saturday, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Monday.

As previously reported, 75-year old Terrell Eugene Giddens of Sherrills Ford is charged with murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Guida’s three children, ages 2, 11 and 13 were at the scene where the shooting took place around 5pm on Saturday, October 12th.

The two men exited their respective vehicles when Guida was shot multiple times. Giddens allegedly fired shots into the vehicle occupied by Guida’s children.

Giddens remains in the Catawba County Jail without bond.
