Man In Alexander County Jail After His Release From Prison

Carl Thomas Samson, age 38 of Lincoln County was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center on Friday, October 6th.

Samson was released from the custody of the NC Department of Corrections earlier in the day after serving seven-years of a nine-year and 5 month sentence on a Catawba County conviction for violation of habitual felon status and other offenses.

The suspect is facing previous charges in Alexander County for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony possession of burglary tools, two counts of attempted breaking and entering, felony possession of schedule VII controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for controlled substance.

As of earlier today, Samson remains in the Alexander County Detention Center and is scheduled for court on October 23rd.
