
Alexanderos Nikola Tsilianos
Alexanderos Nikola Tsilianos, age 40 of Plumtree in Avery County, pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of justice and admitted to being an habitual felon. He was sentenced to 89 to 119 months, or seven years, five months to nine years, eleven months in prison.
Tsilianos was taken into custody last October by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged at that time with the obstruction of justice and habitual felon counts. In December, 2023, while in custody at the Alexander County Detention Center and charged with having illegal narcotics on jail premises. He was found to be in possession of fentanyl.
Prior to the October arrest, Tsilianos had been released from prison after serving approximately five-and-a-half years following a Mitchell County conviction in 2018. He was convicted on multiple charges including felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and habitual felon.
Tsilianos is serving his sentence at Piedmont Correctional Institution in Salisbury.
