Man Charged With Multiple Sex Offenses With A Child In Alex. County

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hickory man this morning and charged him with miltiple sex offenses involving a child.

30 year old Tony Wayne Smith was taken into custody and charged with 9 counts of statutory sex offense with a child, 8 counts of indecent liberties with a child, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Smith is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1 million. He is scheduled for a court appearance on October 29th.
