Longview Police arrested 57-year old Randy Michael Rooney of Newton on Saturday morning and charged him with felony larceny of a firearm. He was also charged with felony larceny, safe cracking, possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rooney is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a combined secured bond of $28,000. A court appearance is scheduled for Monday, October 11th.
