Man Charged This Morning With Stolen Vehicle ** Story Updated **

23 year old Ethan Scott Kirby of Rhodhiss was arrested this morning by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Kirby is charged with felony counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon. Kirby was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $17,000. He will appear in court today in Newton.

Update:

This morning additional charges were filed against Kirby by Conover Police. He is now charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Kirby’s total bond is now $87,000.
