A man remains at large after he attempted to rob a business in Wilkes County last week.
On Wednesday, December 16th, a black male entered the Dollar General on U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro. He was reported to be armed with a small gray handgun. The suspect was dressed in a gray hoodie and black shirt. He approached the counter with two items, then pulled out a “small gray handgun. He told the employee to “empty the register.” The employee did not open the register telling the suspect the register was locked. At that point, the man left the store empty handed.
Wilkesboro Police are investigating.
