Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 32-year old Joe Clifford Tipps of Lawndale on Tuesday. He is charged with assault on a female, assault by pointing a gun, possession of a firearm by a felon and first degree burglary. Tipps is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear on court today in Newton.
