Man Arrested For Statesville Machete Attack

Statesville Police say the suspect in a recent incident has been located and arrested.

On Saturday, Officers took 71-year old David Morgan into custody at a homeless camp located behind Pump Station Road. Morgan had been sought by authorities in relation to a violent altercation that occurred on September 7 with two other homeless individuals.

Morgan is currently receiving medical treatment for the injuries he sustained during the September 7th incident at a local hospital. Following his release from medical care, he will be presented before the magistrate to face charges for two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.

On September, Statesville Officers found two individuals, Christina Foster (28) and Michael Forth (35), both from Morganton, N.C., suffering from multiple lacerations. Both were transported to Baptist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Morgan was identified as the suspect by a witness.
