Maiden Man To Serve At Least 13 Years For Child Sexual Assault

A Catawba County man will serve 13-to-20-years in prison for a child sexual assault that took place in 2019.

54-year old Daniel Ray Harris of Maiden pleaded guilty to felony attempted first degree statutory sexual offense, felony child abuse involving a sexual act and felony indecent liberties with a child. The victim was known by the suspect. The crimes took place in Lincoln County.

Harris has also been charged in Randolph County with statutory rape.
