February 11, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

A Lenoir woman has died in a house fire Friday morning.

Units from Little River, Grace Chapel, Valmead, Hudson, and Lenoir Fire Departments, along with Caldwell EMS were called around 7:24 a.m. to a home off Oak Hill Park Circle.

According to a release from The Caldwell County Public Information Office, Sarah Richardson, 64, was trapped in the home and found dead. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Medical Examiner, and Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. An initial report indicates the blaze started as the result of improperly discarded smoking materials.
