Lenoir Woman Busted For Trafficking Fentanyl

29-year-old Candace Yvonne Wright of Lenoir was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Narcotics Officers on Thursday and charged with trafficking in fentanyl by possession & by transportation, felony maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of possessing, manufacturing, or distributing controlled substances; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver controlled substances; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wright was arrested after Narcotics Officers stopped a vehicle on I-40 that was occupied by a suspected narcotics trafficker. During the stop, a K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Investigators located and seized a half-pound of fentanyl, $429 in cash, and narcotics paraphernalia.

Wright was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where she is being held under no bond. A first appearance in Catawba County District Court is scheduled for today in Newton.
