Valdosta, Georgia: Lenoir-Rhyne advanced to the NCAA Division II Semifinal on Saturday with a 35-7 win over Valdosta Sate.
The Bears scored 28 points in the second quarter. LR’s defense held the vaunted Valdosta State offense to 145 yards.
Lenoir-Rhyne rushed for 307 yards led by Zavion Turner-Knox with 145 and Dwayne McGee’s 102. Both had a pair of touchdowns.
The win pushes the Bears to 13-1.
They advance to the National Semi-Finals and have been reseeded at #3 in NCAA Division II playoffs. LRU travels to Searcy, Arkansas to face No. 2 seeded Harding University on Saturday, December 9th at noon.
Kutztown, PA is the 4 seed and will play at #1 Colorado School of Mines.
