Lenoir-Rhyne Football Player Charged In Alexander County

Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 21-year old Holden Thomas Straughan of Cherokee, N.C. early Sunday morning. Following the report of a man being disruptive, deputies responded to a location off Rink Dam Road in the Bethlehem Community. Straughan was charged with intoxicated and disruptive and two-counts of resisting a public officer. He was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center and later released with a secured bond of $3,000. A court appearance is scheduled for March 22nd in Taylorsville.

Straughan is listed on the Lenoir- Rhyne University Football roster as a junior long-snapper who played high school football at Cherokee High School.
