Lady Cougar Volleyball Downs St Stephens

The Varsity Cougars won an exciting match in four sets with scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, and 26-24. The Cougar offense combined for 40 kills and 13 blocks across the four sets. Seniors, Brianna Abernathy (9 kills, 6 blocks, 3 aces), Gracie Harrington (9 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace), and Macy Fairchild (7 kills) led the offensive efforts. Senior setters, Bryanna Payne (20 assists, 3 aces) and Emily Brown (16 assists) combined for 36 of the 40 tallied assists. The Cougar defense totaled 90 digs with Gracie Harrington (21 digs), Shelbi Coffey (19 digs), and Layna West (18 digs) leading the way.

The JV Cougars dropped their match in two sets with scores of 18-25 and 20-25. The Cougar offense was led by Lindsey Reece (4 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace) and Kenzie Church (3 kills, 2 blocks). Setter, Allie Patton, totaled 12 assists in the two-set match. The Cougar defense tallied 23 digs with Chesney Benton (4 digs) and Allie Patton (4 digs) anchoring the defensive efforts.

AC have back to back conference matches next week. They will start on Monday, November 23rd by traveling to Hickory. On Tuesday, November 24th they will be heading to South Caldwell.
