The Alexander County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has announced the employment of Connie Kincaid to serve as Business Development Manager.
Kincaid, who most recently worked as the Executive Director of the Hickory Downtown Development Association, brings years of experience and knowledge to the EDC. In her new role, Kincaid will focus on activities to support commercial recruitment as well as support for the county’s existing commercial base. “I believe that Connie is the perfect fit for the EDC, as her experience and insight will make a positive impact on our economic development efforts,” said David Icenhour, Executive Director of the Alexander County EDC. “She is learning about Alexander County, and determining a plan for success in terms of bringing new businesses into the county, while assisting our existing businesses. I’m excited to have Connie on our team.”Kincaid, who currently serves as Treasurer of the North Carolina Downtown Development Association, has served seven cities in three states during her 30-year career. She is one of four North Carolina Main Street Managers certified by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “I strive to inspire communities to work together to create an environment for small businesses to be successful,” Kincaid remarked. “I look forward to helping make Alexander County a place where families may enjoy an even higher quality of life.”
