Maddux Kerley pitched a no-hitter as Alexander Central blanked Watauga 5-0 Thursday at Bob Gryder stadium in Taylorsville.

Kerley fanned 13 Watauga batters, walked three, and allowed no hits. Bryson Hammer, playing right field went 2-3 and 3 runs batted in to lead the Cougars at the plate. Byron Younts scored 3 runs as Alexander Central went to 1-1 in Northwestern Conference play and 2-3 overall.
