Johnson’s Blast Wins It For Alexander Central

Taylorsville: The Cougars trailed 2-1 heading to the home half of the 5th inning. They would score 4 runs in the at bat and with it, they beat Mooresville. Sophomore Gunnar Johnson pitched 2.1 innings in relief and earned the mound win. His homer that sent home a pair of teammates was the clincher.

AC is 18-2 while the visiting Blue Devils fall to 9-12.

The Cougars will return to action on Friday at Watauga. The game will be played at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium on the campus of Appalachian State University.
