Jefferson Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Wilkes County

An Ashe County man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in Wilkes County

The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office along with EMS and first responders were dispatched to Farmview Drive, Wilkesboro, to an assault around 6:15 am Tuesday July 18. Officers located a female at the doorway of the home suffering from what appeared to be knife wounds to the neck and side. The female was given aid and transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Dalton Wade Lister, 28, of Jefferson was arrested at the scene and charged with Attempted murder. He’s being held in the Wilkes Detention under a secured bond of $500,000. The investigation is ongoing.
