Officials with Iredell-Statesville Schools say they’ve moved up start times for the North Iredell High School versus West Iredell High School junior varsity and varsity football games this week.
The JV game will be played at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at North Iredell. The varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday at West Iredell.
The changes were made as a precautionary measure “due to events that impacted our community,” the school system noted in their Facebook posts.
Several fights in the community and in the parking lot of a youth football game over the weekend—some posted on Instagram—raised security concerns.
Additional security will be present at both games.
