STATESVILLE– Tonight, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will perform a traffic shift on I-77 South as part of the I-40/I-77 interchange improvement project.
Starting at 7 p.m., traffic will be shifted to a new alignment allowing crews to complete tie-in work for the new I-40 East loop, and to finish the embankment for the future ramp from I-40 East to I-77 North.
Work is anticipated to wrap up by 7 a.m. Friday morning, weather permitting.
Drivers should remain alert, reduce speed and use caution in this work area.
