Iredell County Teen Killed In Saturday Crash

October 20, 2024 By Richard C. Gilbert

Statesville– On Saturday, October 19, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Iredell County on NC 115 near Ella Kay Lane. A 2005 Honda motorcycle traveling north on NC 115 attempted to pass a 1969 Chevrolet logging truck in a no-passing zone as the truck turned left into the Progressive Power Equipment & Landscape parking lot and struck a log extending off the back of the trailer.

The driver of the Honda, Keaton Stone McGlamery, 19, of Statesville, was thrown from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Floyd Eugene Osborne, 67 of Statesville, was not injured.

During the on-scene investigation, NC 115 was partially closed in the area for two hours. The initial investigation indicates excessive speed and improper passing to be the contributing circumstances in the collision. No charges will be filed in this case.
