Iredell County Man Gets Minimum 18 Years In Prison For Child-Sex Offenses

A Harmony man received a minimum prison sentence of approximately 18 years in a sex offense case. 32-year-old Timothy Clayton Campbell of Harmony pleaded guilty to first-degree statutory sex offense and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. He was given a sentence of 192-291 months along with a pair of 13 to 25 month terms.

The defendant was arrested in connection to an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. A report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit stating that the juvenile had been assaulted in northern Iredell County between April and December of 2020.

The juvenile victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center, according to police reports. Several additional witnesses were found and interviewed.

Based on evidence and information gathered during the investigation, the ICSO obtained felony warrants charging the suspect with 18 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult. As WHKY previously reported, Timothy Clayton Campbell was arrested on the charges on July 21, 2021.
