Christmas gets brighter with the lighting of the Town of Taylorsville’s new Christmas Tree and the Hometown Christmas Celebration this evening.
It all begins at 5:30 pm at the County Courthouse Park.
A new Christmas Bingo Challenge sponsored by The Taylorsville Times will encourage families to visit downtown businesses; the first 100 families completing five activities across the Bingo Challenge will receive a Christmas ornament. Flyers explaining the Bingo Challenge tasks will also be available at Hometown Christmas.
Live music, food trucks, and carriage rides will follow from 6 to 9 p.m.
The centerpiece of the decorations this year will be the nearly 40-foot tall, $49,000 artificial Christmas tree recently purchased by the Town of Taylorsville, for which donations are still being accepted.
There will be food trucks, including JB’s Rolling Bistro, The Rollin’ Lemon, Carnival Crazy’s, and Dig ’N Dogs. Classic cars and trucks will cruise-in for a cause, sponsored by Alexander Auto.
Music, food trucks, and carriage rides will return on the Thursday evenings of December 12 and 19.
