An Alexander County home was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 3pm , units from Wittenburg, Taylorsville, Hiddenite, and Stony Point responded to a house fire on Old Landfill Road. According to Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle, the two-story structure was a total loss. The home was occupied by 4 residents.
Earle says the likely cause of the fire is possibly related to a wood stove or a chimney. No injuries were reported. Alexander EMS also responded to the fire.
