Firefighters were called to a residence on Lake Hickory off Icard Ridge Road around 2:30 this morning.
According to Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle, the fire was started as the result of fireworks and fireworks debris being discarded in a trash can. Some damage was done to the dwelling, no injuries were reported.
Bethlehem, Wittenburg, Ellendale, and an engine from Hickory responded.
