Alexander County Sports Hall of Fame member Shena Hollar earned her 1000th career win in the Lenoir-Rhyne’s sweep of Mars Hill of Sunday.
LRU defeated the Lions 8-0 in game one for the 999th career win then the Bears defeated Mars Hill 6-0 for Hollar’s 1000th career win.
In her 25th season in Hickory, Hollar won her 955th game as a Bear and her 1000th career win and becomes the 8th active coach in NCAA Division II to reach the 1,000 win milestone.
Hollar is an Alexander Central High School grad.
