Hidddenite Man Might Be The Most Arrested Person In Alexander County History

A Hiddenite man is back in jail, this time in Iredell County. Scott Darnell Frye, age 60. was arrested by authorities on Tuesday. He was taken into custody as result of a traffic stop after he led Iredell County Deputies on a vehicle chase. Frye is charged with flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, driving with license revoked, failure to stop at red light or stop sign and other vehicle-related offenses. He was transferred to Alexander County custody and is being held without bond as of earlier today.

Frye, at one time in 2023 had over 100 charges pending in Alexander, Iredell and Catawba Counties. His history with law enforcement goes back decades. Frye was free on bond when a judge revoked his bond. He remained in the Alexander County Detention Center until he was given a two-year suspended sentence in October, 2024 for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. A long list of other charges were dropped as result of the suspended sentence.

A 2022 charge in Alexander County remains pending for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and felony probation violation. That case is set for Alexander County Superior Court on January 6th.
