On Monday, April 3, 2023 at approximately 10:23 P.M a Hickory Police Officer on patrol heard multiple gunshots in the area of the 900 block of South Center St. Upon arriving in the area, the officer was advised that an 18 year old male victim, Niquezion Shuford was hiding inside of the Dana Mini Mart, 935 South Center St. The victim and witnesses advised that a light colored SUV pulled up beside Shuford as he was walking in the area and that a passenger exited the vehicle with a rifle and began firing rounds at Shuford as he ran away. Witnesses of the incident identified Toland Huff Jr., 18 as the shooter. The victim was not injured during the shooting and multiple shell casings were recovered.

Huff is currently out on bond for attempted murder charges for a shooting incident at Sunny Valley Apartments on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
