The Hickory Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in the 1000 block of South Center Street.
Around 3:40 pm, Hickory Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 1061 South Center Street. Officers arrived and located two juveniles that reported they had been shot at, one of which was a 14-year-old suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The injured juvenile was transported from the scene to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
