Hickory Police Charge Suspect With Armed Robbery Of Convenience Store

The Hickory Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Hickory Mart, located at 1940 12th Avenue NE in Hickory, on Saturday, June 6, just after 3:25 a.m.

A male subject, later identified as Barry Frederick Holden Brown, 40, of Hickory, entered the business armed with a handgun. He confronted an employee and then stole money from the register and store merchandise. He then left the business on foot. No injuries occurred in this incident.

A warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest, and he was located later in the afternoon of June 6 in Statesville by Statesville Police Department.

Brown was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently housed at the Catawba County Detention Center under no bond.
